Real pleasure, Henry Ford There is a pleasure in feeling that you have made others happy-that you have lessened in some degree the burdens of your fellow-men that you have provided a margin out of which may be had pleasure and saving. Good-will is one of the few really important assets of life. A determined man can win almost anything that he goes after, but unless, in his getting, he gains good will he has not profited much Henry Ford

Truth makes demands in the process of setting you free and freedom is only yours as you make decisions that are in line with the truth you know. Obedience is the true sign of faith; the Word is not working in you until it affects the decisions you are making

SOMETHING DRIVES ME

Image
Something Drives Me. By Solomon Buchi Bartholomew Weeks ago, I was in a betting centre close to home just to charge my gadgets ‘cos there was no power supply in my area. I was reading an eBook on my iPad when this young man who wore a despondent look came in and sat just by my side.  A bit tattered; let's say a struggling man. He flashed his eyes on my iPad to see what I was doing, and unlike me I never felt infuriated. Then he gently sought to know me. His English was impeccable. I was surprised the level of grand words he used, and his accent was above average. He asked me politely who I am and what I do. I told him I am a life coach, motivational speaker, CBT practitioner and budding psychotherapist. He got interested, asked me random questions of how I started my journey. I told him I discovered myself at 14, was and still is a voracious reader, I spent most of my nights reading and researching. Did courses and empowered my self. Followed credible people closely.....

GARLIC AND PREGNANCY

Image
Do you know the effect of garlic for future moms? Let's point out some benefits of this product in pregnancy! We will tell you if garlic and pregnancy makes for an advantageous situation. Actually, a comprehensive list of risks associated with eating garlic during the pregnancy is not known. However, it is proably a great idea to steer clear of large amounts of garlic and substances with garlic during pregnancy. While a normal dietary intake is likely not going to induce any problems, too much garlic can potentially lead to a miscarriage. Health benefits of garlic Well, garlic seems to have a wide diversity of health benefits. However, a lot of the studies that showed that garlic is beneficial were based on the dietary consumption of the garlic (via the food, not via other means like tea). It is not entirely clear whether garlic from other sources provide the same benefits as eating garlic with meals or if certain kinds of garlic substances are better than others. ...

Personal Performance: Are Distractions Depleting Your Energy? By Harold Taylor

Our brains do not have an unlimited amount of energy to process information and make decisions throughout the day. Nor can our bodies absorb the ever-increasing demands of 24/7 connectivity, multitasking and increasing workloads, without a concomitant reduction in efficiency and compromised health and well-being. But by managing your energy – from its creation to its use – you are able to increase your efficiency and personal performance, more easily achieve your goals, and still, have ample energy remaining for an active and fulfilling lifestyle.   Distractions affect your short-term memory and reduce your ability to make purposeful decisions. For example, if listening to your car radio, you could miss your turn off, and if watching TV, you could nibble your way through 1000 calories. Willpower or  self-control  is a limited resource. If you have to use much of it to  cope with stress  in your life, for instance, you could more easily slip back i...

Everything you need to live well FOOD Recipe For The Fluffiest Dutch Baby Pancakes BY HADIZA LAWAL 14 AUGUST 2017 | 7:00 AM Butch Baby Pancakes Sundays are for all day brunching, and Dutch babies make the perfect brunch menu item. Not only are they filling, they are pretty looking and different from your everyday pancakes. They can also be topped with a variety of things, depending if you are craving a sweet or savoury meal. I love how quick and easy it is to make these pancakes. The only ‘work’ required is mixing the batter which I did in a food processor. Once the batter is made, all you need to do is pop it in the oven and let the oven do the work. There’s no flipping and turning involved with this one. These pancakes come out crispy on the edges and super fluffy on the inside. They taste amazing and they are certainly a break from the regular pancakes. Recipe for the Dutch baby is as follows. Recipe makes one. Ingredients 1 egg, large 1/3 cups of all-purpose flou...

THE VISITATION OF GOD

Image
By: Pastor Bankie THE VISITATION OF GOD Sometime ago I was engaged in a discussion with a man who was mocking and criticizing people who he said were looking for miracles, going to one miracle crusade after another. He is a staunch member of an orthodox church. I asked him to tell me honestly that he was not desiring a miracle himself. He answered me that he was OK, so I replied that we should thank God for him but that he needs to bear in mind that there are many who are not so okay; many who have cancer that need healing, people with sickly children, those in severe financial distress, young people that need to be gainfully employed, lonely people etc. I told him that the fact that he is OK should not make the people that are not subjects of his mockery, rather he should thank God and pray that he does not find himself in a situation that desperate. Now, for those who are not okay, what you need is a visitation from the Lord. The visitation of God refers to when God comes to...

This Woman Reads 100 Books In A Month (And How You Can Too) Last month, Therese embarked on a challenge to read 100 nonfiction titles with the Blinkist app. Here's how she did.

Image
Meet Therese, she’s a business development manager living in Berlin, Germany. Last month, she managed to read over 100 nonfiction titles in psychology, politics and leadership. It started with a bet. A colleague challenged her to read Malcolm Gladwell’s Outliers: The Story Of Success in two hours. As determined as she was, she couldn’t meet the deadline. She got through the first few chapters relatively quickly but found it impossible to finish the book in the designated 2 hours. Although she lost the bet, she had an idea. “I want to read more nonfiction books—I find it really useful to read the key takeaways from lots of books to help me get a feeling for what’s an absolute must for my to-read list!” She found several websites, blogs and apps that transform books into ‘bite-sized’ content. In the end, she opted for the Blinkist app. As one of the first services to condense nonfiction books into quick reads, the Blinkist app has 1,50...

VIVINO APP

Image
This app is designed to turn anyone into a wine expert By Katy Scott Heini Zachariassen never quite understood wine. He would go to the supermarket to pick out a bottle, but was often at a loss when confronted with the inevitable "wall of wine." It bothered him -- so he set out to build an app that catalogs, organizes and ranks millions of bottles. "We had a problem that needed solving: I want to drink better wine but I don't know s**t about wine," said Zachariassen. Seven years and 25 million downloads later, the Vivino app that Zachariassen created is used by a community of casual drinkers who have reviewed and rated nearly 12 million bottles of wine. Users snap a photo of a wine label with their phone, and the app will return user ratings, the average retail price, tasting notes and recommended food pairings. It also works on restaurant wine lists. To date, Vivino users have scanned nearly 425 million labels and given 72 million ratings. "We real...
